At Yoga Union Perth, our qualified, passionate Yoga Teachers are at the heart of everything we do.

  • Corné

Corné has leaned on yoga to get to know herself and find strength and balance in her life. She is a strong advocate for the practice through all stages of life, and her passion lies in using yoga to help people move through life’s transitions, both physically and emotionally.

She teaches a variety of yoga styles and incorporates Synergy Yoga principles to encourage joint and spinal health.

Corné has two daughters, a bit of a wild past which brought her to yoga, and is inspired by her cat, Stevie, to immerse herself fully in each moment.

As co-founder of Yoga Union, her greatest joy lies in bringing together a welcoming and supportive community of people from all walks of life, connected by our humanity.

  • Gemma

Gemma began practising yoga in her teens as a stress relief and coping mechanism during a tumultuous time in her life. It has developed over the years and truly become a part of who she is today. Gem undertook her teacher training in 2020 and this cemented her passion for sharing the wisdom and love of yoga with others.

Her teaching style is Hatha based, but she believes that the opportunity to practice yoga exists in every moment of life. The practice of mindfulness is a foundation in all her offerings.

Gem loves connection and community and you will always feel safe and welcome in her classes.

  • Axel

With four years’ service in the Australian Defence Force and more tattoos than a sailor, Axel Rayne is not your quintessential Yoga teacher.

He completed his 1440 hr Hatha Yoga Teaching Diploma with the Satyandanda Yoga Academy and began his teaching journey in 2016.

More recently, Axel completed a 50-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with the devilishly handsome (and highly regarded) Hugh Lee.

Axel is known for his no-frills precise teaching style. He values simplicity and spaciousness in his classes, creating a gentle, inclusive environment in which one can go within.

He believes the best way to imbibe Yoga is to allow it to unfold from within through deep relaxation, soul-quenching stillness, mindfulness and self-reflection.
